The construction of rain gardens at Gresham's Trinity Lutheran Church was timely with the poor weather.

The Portland region is bracing for another round of wet and windy weather, expected to strike late Thursday, Nov. 21.

For much of the day, Thursday should be mostly mild for the Portland area, according to KOIN 6 News, a news partner of this newspaper. A few stray rain showers are likely, with afternoon highs in the mid-50s.

But rain is expected to return in Thursday night into Friday morning, with wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour in the Portland area. Near the Oregon coast, winds of 40 to 45 miles per hour on Friday won’t be unusual, KOIN said.

Rain showers are expected to continue on Saturday, with drier weather early next week.
