Crafts and a bouncy house kept kids occupied at the Reed Neighborhood Association “Fall Festival”.

The Saturday afternoon weather was perfect, on October 5th, for a low-key family event – which is what the Reed Neighborhood Association (RNA) “Fall Festival” was planned to be.

“The Reedwood Friends Church has a fall event about this time each year – and this time, they reached out to the neighborhood association to partner with, to present an expanded, combined ‘Fall Festival’ here on their grounds,” explained RNA Chair Kristina Di Tullo.

“We have all kinds of fabulous activities for families and kids, including a bouncy house, pumpkin painting, and leaf rubbing activities,” Di Tullo pointed out. “And, for adults, Hip Chicks Do Wine – from right here in our neighborhood – is offering wine tastings; and Keeper Coffee Company donated gift certificates for prize drawings.”

A gastronomic highlight for many was the “Neighborhood Bake-Off” contest. After judging, everyone was invited to sample the many delicious entries for themselves.

Looking around at everyone having fun, Di Tullo observed, “It’s a great way for families with kids to connect with one another – and for the parents and kids to form a local connection. This is what ‘community’ looks like to me.”
