- Three vehicles are crumpled, each facing the other two in what appeared to be a three-way head-on on a two-way street – in this Friday afternoon intersection mishap in the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood. Your guess is as good as ours on just how this happened.
We cover major auto mishaps because people in Southeast who see a crash often want to know what the story behind it was. Usually we can explain how it happened. But this one was unique: Two cars and a truck somehow managed to collide head-on from three different directions on S.E. Woodstock Boulevard at 67th Avenue. It happened on the afternoon of September 13th, at about 4:15 p.m.

The heap of twisted metal and plastic, near the southeast corner of the intersection, was comprised of a Ford Ranger pickup truck, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 350 sedan, and a VW Passat Tdi SE sedan.
Records show emergency medical responders were not summoned, but an East Precinct officer was eventually dispatched there at 5:47 p.m. for traffic control. With no injuries reported, no citations were issued, and the matter was left up to the respective insurance companies to figure out.
We have no idea how these vehicles managed to collide this way – but it occurred to us if a fourth car had piled into the bunch from the remaining direction, the scene would have resembled a Peter Sellers “Pink Panther” comic movie set-piece.
