Domestic dispute leads to gunfire in Brentwood-Darlington

- One of the East Precinct officers who turned out in the rain to investigate a domestic shooting that apparently caused no injury, on Veteran’s Day in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood – on Bybee, a block west of S.E. 82nd Avenue of Roses.
A cold hard rain was pelting the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood on Saturday evening, November 11, when residents called the 9-1-1 Center reporting hearing gunshots on S.E. Bybee Boulevard near 81st Place.

Six East Precinct officers were dispatched at 8:06 p.m., and began to canvass the area looking for a shooting victim – or at least evidence of gunfire.
Portland Police Public Information Manager Mike Benner told THE BEE afterward, “Officers found some shell casings. Upon investigation, they determined that there had been an altercation in a home between two people, who were known to one another. As one of the two people was driving away is when the reported shots were fired.”
