Officers learned from the apartment residents that an unknown woman had entered their third story apartment while they were asleep.
At that moment, a person matching the suspect’s description was seen riding away from the area on a bicycle. Information was provided to responding officers about the description and location of the suspect, and they were able to take the suspect into custody on S.E. 11th Avenue, a short distance from the burglarized apartment.
Officers concluded that the suspect entered the third story apartment by climbing a fire escape to a bathroom window where she pushed a fan out of the window in order to get in.
Arrested was 30-year-old Brandi A. Anderson, who was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail (MCDC) on charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Possession of Methamphetamine, Theft in the Second Degree, and Indecent Exposure. That last charge was not explained by the police in their press release.
