As a man was being served with a Restraining Order Violation in the Mt. Scott-Arleta on July 17, he made it clear he wasn’t accepting the legal papers quietly.

Portland Police East Precinct officers were called to a house on S.E. 62nd Avenue between Woodstock Boulevard and S.E. Duke Street at 8:20 am.
When officers contacted 34-year-old Constantine Denny Galofteanu in a bedroom, he immediately began to fight with police, said PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Peter Simpson.
“Officers used pepper spray, and tased the suspect multiple times, but he was unaffected by these less-lethal tools, and ran out of the house,” Simpson continued.
Calls for backup brought additional officers to the area; they caught up with Galofteanu at S.E Duke Street. “He again was tased multiple times, but continued to resist arrest. He was taken into custody and placed into maximum restraint by five officers.”
After a brief stay in the hospital, Galofteanu was released that evening and booked into jail at 11:02 p.m. on charges of Restraining Order Violation, Resisting Arrest, and Escape II — racking up a combined bail of $75,000.
Even after this reportedly violent confrontation, somewhat surprisingly, Multnomah County Detention Center records show Galofteanu was released into the “Pre-Trial Supervision Program” on the following day, on July 18. His whereabouts are unknown.
